This guide is designed for administrators who need to manage access for team members, security staff, or guests. All management happens on the User Management page.

πŸ›‘ Before You Start: Understanding the Basics

Before you begin inviting users or creating groups, it is crucial to understand how Angelcam organizes hardware and accounts.

1. Inviting a New User

To add someone to your Space:

  1. Go to the User Management section.

  2. Click + Add New User and enter their email address.

  3. The user will receive an invitation email. They must log in (or create an account) and accept the invitation on their Space Memberships page to gain access.

2. User Roles & Global Permissions

When you invite a user, you first determine their global level of control:

  • Administrator: Full control over the entire Space. Admins can add/remove hardware, manage all users, and change service subscriptions.

  • Billing & Payments: Allows the user to view invoices and manage payment methods. However, they cannot change or cancel services; that remains an Admin-only privilege.

  • Regular User: Has no global power; they only see the specific Locations and cameras you manually assign to them.

3. Granular Camera Permissions

Permissions follow a logical hierarchy. A user must have the "parent" permission to access more specific features. For example, to enable Recording access, the user must first have View Live Video access.

  • View Live Video: The base permission required for most other camera features.

  • View Recording: Allows playback of cloud footage.

  • Arm/Disarm Location: Enables the user to change the security state (Arm/Disarm) of a specific location.

  • Incident Notifications: Grants alerts and temporary access to all resources in that location during an active incident.

4. Efficient Management with Groups

If you manage a large number of users, Groups are the most efficient way to handle permissions.

  • How it works: Create a Group (e.g., "Security Team" or "Tenants"), set the permissions for that group, and then simply add users as members.

  • Additive Permissions: Permissions are cumulative. If a user is in two different groups, they receive the total sum of all permissions from both. You can also grant a user extra individual permissions on top of their group settings.

  • Inheritance: If a user inherits a permission from a group, it cannot be removed individually. You would need to remove the user from that group to revoke that specific permission.

  • Note: Groups cannot be granted Administrator rights; these must be assigned to users individually.
