Welcome to the new Angelcam organizational structure! To get the most out of your account, it’s important to understand how your hardware and access are organized.
What is a Space?
Think of a Space as your main account "container." It holds everything: cameras, sensors, hardware, billing, and the people you choose to share access with.
Personalized Naming: By default, your primary Space is called "My Space." When you are invited to someone else’s Space, it will initially appear as "[Owner's Name]'s Space."
Space Switcher: If you have access to more than one Space, a dropdown menu (Space Switcher) will appear in the top bar of the web platform, allowing you to toggle between them.
Managing Your Spaces
You have full control over how your spaces appear and which memberships you keep. All of this is managed on the Space Memberships page.
Private Renaming: You can rename any Space you have access to. This change is private to you—renaming a space helps you stay organized but won't change the name for the owner or other guests.
Leaving a Space: If you no longer need access to a shared Space, you can leave it here.
Note: You cannot leave a Space that you own.
What is a Location?
Within a Space, you can group your hardware into Locations (e.g., "Main Warehouse," "Office," or "Front Yard"). A Location is more than just a folder; it's a functional unit.
What’s inside: Locations contain cameras, sensors, speakers, and Angelcam Connectors.
Security Control: Features like Arming/Disarming and Incident Notifications are managed at the Location level.
Mobile App Experience
Currently, the mobile app is closely linked to your web settings:
Active Space: The app displays whichever Space you currently have selected on the web platform.
Locations: Please note that Locations are not yet visible in the mobile app. All hardware will appear in a single list for now. We are working on a major update to bring full Location management to mobile soon!
