How Angelcam subscriptions work — account plans, per-camera add-ons, free trials, and what happens if you stop paying.

🧩 How an Angelcam subscription is put together

There are three independent pieces, and you can combine them however you like:

  1. Account plan — the base layer. One per Angelcam account (your "space"). Required to view, share, and manage your cameras through Angelcam.

  2. Add-ons — extra capabilities you turn on per camera: Cloud Recording, Broadcasting, Timelapse. You only pay for the cameras that need them.

  3. Hardware (optional, one-time purchase) — AngelBox or AngelCamera Two if you need help getting your cameras to the cloud reliably.

Note: The account plan is the foundation. Add-ons sit on top of it — without an active account plan, the add-ons can't run.

1. Account plans

The account plan defines how many cameras, users, and locations your account can hold, and what level of support you get.

👥 Are you a guest in someone else's space? If you don't own any cameras yourself but have access to cameras someone has shared with you, you don't need your own account plan. Switch to their space using the Space Switcher in the top bar — that's it. See Understanding Spaces & Locations for details.

There are four plans to choose from:

Essentials — for homes and personal setups

  • $4 / month or $36 / year

  • Up to 10 cameras, 3 users, 2 locations

  • Live monitoring on web and mobile, multicamera view, video wall, and camera health monitoring

  • Weekday support

Professional — for small businesses

  • $39 / month or $390 / year

  • Up to 25 cameras, 8 users, 5 locations

  • Same platform features as Essentials, with a higher capacity

  • Weekday support

Business — for larger operations

  • $99 / month or $990 / year

  • Up to 100 cameras, 50 users, 20 locations

  • Priority support and a dedicated account manager

Flex — custom-built for complex deployments

  • From $249 / month (or $2,490 / year)

  • Unlimited cameras, users, and locations

  • Custom service agreements, custom SLA, direct developer-to-developer support, almost any payment method

Yearly billing: paying yearly works out to roughly 10 months for the price of 12 on Professional, Business, and Flex. Essentials is a flat $36 / year.

2. Add-ons (per camera)

Add-ons sit on top of your account plan and are billed per camera — so if only 3 of your 10 cameras need Cloud Recording, you only pay for those 3. You can mix and match plans across cameras.

Continuous or event-based recording to the cloud, with the retention period you choose. Full details.

  • 30 days (most popular) — $15.99 / mo or $159.99 / year

  • 6 months — $57.99 / mo or $579.99 / year

  • 1 year — $104.99 / mo or $1,049.99 / year

  • 2 years — $194.99 / mo or $1,949.99 / year

  • 3 years — $269.99 / mo or $2,699.99 / year

📡 Broadcasting

Share live video publicly — embed on your website, broadcast to Windy, or run a public stream of your beach, ski resort, or zoo. Full details.

  • Free — $0. Public stream with ads, up to 200 concurrent viewers.

  • Standard — $7.99 / mo or $79.99 / year per camera. Removes ads, adds your logo, password protection, scheduling.

  • Premium — $35.99 / mo or $359.99 / year per camera. Embed the player on your own website, with domain-lock protection.

  • Pro — $119.99 / mo or $1,199.99 / year per camera. API access, no Angelcam branding in the stream, up to 2,000 concurrent viewers, dedicated key account manager.

⏱️ Timelapse

Compress months of construction (or anything else) into a short video. One snapshot every 10 minutes, daily email summary, AVI export. Full details.

🎁 Free trials — how they work

Every Angelcam account starts with free trials so you can test before you commit. There are four separate trials:

  • Essentials plan21 days free for new accounts. No credit card required to start.

  • Cloud Recording10-day free trial of the 3-day retention plan, with the full set of recording features.

  • Broadcasting Premium30-day free trial.

  • Timelapse21-day free trial.

One per account. Each trial can be used only once per Angelcam space. If you've already used the Cloud Recording trial on your account, it can't be activated a second time.

When a trial ends:

  • If auto-renew is on, you're billed at the regular rate and the service continues without interruption.

  • If auto-renew is off, the service stops at the end of the trial. For Cloud Recording, you keep access to footage from the trial for a few extra days before it becomes inaccessible.

🤔 What happens if I don't have an active account plan?

This is the question we get asked most. The short answer: nothing is deleted, but everything pauses.

While your account plan is inactive:

  • Your cameras stay paired to your Angelcam account — we don't delete anything.

  • You can't view, share, or manage your cameras through the Angelcam apps until an account plan is active again.

  • Saved clips in the Secured vault stay indefinitely, even if Cloud Recording is canceled — those don't disappear.

When you reactivate an account plan:

  • Your cameras and account are right where you left them — no need to re-add cameras or reconfigure anything.

  • You'll need to reactivate the add-ons on each camera that needs Cloud Recording, Broadcasting, or Timelapse. They don't resume automatically.

🚀 How to get started

  1. Create an Angelcam account. After sign-up you'll land on the plans page — activate your 21-day Essentials trial there. No credit card required.

  2. Connect your cameras using AngelBox, AngelCamera Two, or the Angelcam Connector.

  3. During the trial, decide which add-ons you actually need (Cloud Recording, Broadcasting, Timelapse) and turn them on per camera. Here's how to activate them.

  4. Before day 21, pick the account plan that matches your camera count and team size — otherwise the trial will auto-renew into the paid Essentials plan.
