Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step when you log in: something you know (your password) and something you have (a code from an app on your phone). It takes the security of your Angelcam account to the next level.
Why is it important?
đ With 2FA turned on, a stolen or leaked password alone isn't enough to get into your account.
Before you start
You'll need an authenticator app on your phone. Any standard authenticator app works, for example Google Authenticator (Android / iOS), Microsoft Authenticator, or a password manager with built-in authenticator codes such as 1Password.
How to enable 2FA
Log in to your Angelcam account and open Login settings. In the Two-factor authentication section, click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
Use your authenticator app to scan the QR code shown under Step 1. If you can't scan it, enter the key shown below the QR code into your app manually.
Under Step 2, enter the token generated by your authenticator app and click Verify.
That's it! Back in Login settings, you'll see the message confirming that two-factor authentication has been enabled for your account. Good job!
Generate backup tokens
If you lose your phone or can't use your authenticator app, backup tokens let you log in. In Login settings, under Backup Tokens, click Show Codes, then Generate Tokens. Store them somewhere safe, such as your password manager. Each token can be used once.
Signing in with Google or Apple
If you sign in with your Google or Apple account, your login is protected by that account's security settings, so make sure 2FA is enabled there too. For Angelcam accounts, we recommend logging in with an email and password combined with 2FA.
đ The Angelcam mobile app doesn't support 2FA yet. When you log in to the app, you won't be asked for a code.
