This guide walks you through setting up your AngelBox: connecting it to your network, adding it to your Angelcam account and connecting your cameras.
📦 In the box: AngelBox, a power adapter and an Ethernet cable.
✅ Before you start
An Angelcam account. If you don't have one yet, create it for free at my.angelcam.com.
A DHCP server on your network. AngelBox gets its IP address automatically and can't be set to a fixed IP. Most routers have DHCP turned on by default.
AngelBox and your cameras on the same local network (the same subnet), and that network needs internet access.
Cameras on default ports. AngelBox looks for RTSP and MJPEG streams on ports 554, 88, 81, 555, 7447, 8554, 7070, 10554, 80 and 6667. If your camera uses a different port, AngelBox won't find it. The list is limited on purpose, because some firewalls block detection when every port is scanned.
Compatible cameras that stream H.264 or H.265 over RTSP, or MJPEG. See the AngelBox compatibility list.
🔌 Step 1: Connect AngelBox to your network
Connect AngelBox to your router or network switch with the Ethernet cable.
Plug in the power adapter. AngelBox turns on automatically, there's no power switch.
Wait a minute or two for AngelBox to start and get an IP address.
💻 Step 2: Add AngelBox to your Angelcam account
Log in at my.angelcam.com, open the Cameras tab of your location and click Connect a new camera.
In the AngelBox box, click I have AngelBox and its ID already.
Enter the 10-character AngelBox ID from the label on the device and click Submit.
📹 Step 3: Connect your cameras
AngelBox shows all cameras and NVRs/DVRs it found on your network. Select the ones you want to add.
If a camera is password-protected, enter its username and password.
Click Add selected cameras to Angelcam.
💡 AngelBox can't always detect cameras behind an NVR/DVR. In that case, enter the stream addresses manually. See Finding RTSP addresses for IP cameras & NVRs/DVRs.
👀 Step 4: Check that your cameras are live
Each connected camera shows a preview in the Cameras tab once its stream is running.
Click a camera to watch the full live stream and check the video quality.
If a camera is offline or has no preview, check Before you start above, especially the ports and the subnet. See also AngelBox troubleshooting.
➕ What's next
To record or broadcast your cameras, add the Cloud Recording or Broadcasting service in Billing → Camera add-ons.
